| Introduction |
|
First, a little about myself. I am married and have
five grown children. I currently am a fulltime stay at home
housewife where I can devote all my time to my husband and the
breeding, raising and showing of my second love, my Pom kids.

My love for poms started many years ago in l964
with a little black bitch puppy that I got in exchange for work I
did to pay for her. I have had poms off and on ever
since.

My serious pursuit of the breed began approximately
15 years ago when I purchased two white bitches from breeder, Sue
White, of White Haven Kennels. It was agreed that she would keep and
breed the bitches then return them to me. Though white was not what
I wanted at the time, it was all I was able to find available for
purchase. One white bitch I sold, but the other, Macey, I kept and
used in a breeding program. Quite a few of my dogs now can be traced
back to her, including one of my foundation bitches, Heartland's
Almost An Angel.

A little later I would purchase an orange sable
bitch from Sue named Wee Heart's High Society. She was to become
another one of my foundation bitches and a great producer. While
being bred at Fran Stoll's, I took her daughter from a previous
breeding for Fran to see. Fran was quite impressed with her and
encouraged me to show her. I had no interest to do so, but an
agreement was reached between Fran and I and she was left at Fran's
to be shown. That was the beginning of Heartland
Pomeranians.

I needed a very special name for the hobby I was
putting so much of my love, time, work and efforts into. It was
definitely where my heart was and what I loved doing, hence the
name, Heartland.
